SM Wildwood Arena set to open its gates Oct. 22

The owner, Sarah Miller, moved to Texas in 2016 to further pursue more rodeo and breeding opportunities. She found the property that the arena now sits on and fell in love with the location right away. From there, Wildwood was born. The facility was created to be a unique place for dreamers, ropers, breeders, barrel racers, and event goers alike. Miller made sure that everything was built with great detail and even more care.

Professors share their student pet peeves

“I really don’t like it when students have an excuse,” Hinson said. “I’d rather them just to be honest. If you overslept, just say you overslept. Don’t tell me that your car died, the dog died or some other reason that just doesn’t sound plausible. Just be honest. If you miss class, I’d rather just know that you were tired that day and didn’t want to come to class, rather than you had to do something else.”

Students start campus prayer group to bring ministries together

Every other Friday morning a group of students meet at the bandstand in Heritage Park to pray together. The prayer group was started by Lexie Miller, a junior Digital Media major, and Brittany Felch, a junior Public Relations and Event Management major. They formed the idea while trying to think of a way for the different campus ministries at Tarleton to come together

Frazier to give ‘Last Lecture’ on Tuesday

“Life is full of surprises and we only need to open our eyes, minds and hearts to see what is there. We need to be open to the unexpected and treasure the journey that God has given us,” Frazier explained. “…It will be fun, entertaining and full of raw emotion. Let’s face it, if this was really my last lecture then there are some things that I want to remind people and we are going to go over that list.”

LGBQ Lunch today at noon

An LGBQ Lunch will be held Thursday, Sept. 19 at noon in Legacy Hall. This is a lunch hosted by the Diversity, Inclusion, and International Programs, and there will be a presentation by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s Program Specialist, Emily Vankirk, and a discussion to talk about sexuality and learn more about the LGBQ+ community.
