Equine Center hosts open house
By Bethann Coldiron —
Tarleton State University’s Equine Center first open house was held Saturday to showcase the center’s recent improvements to the facility. The center also held a new faculty meet and greet, as well as a preview of this year’s two year old horses that will be available for purchase at this year’s spring horse sale.
Improvements made included new foaling stalls, freshly painted walls and veterinary stocks, new tables and chairs in the classroom, and the donation of a weanling colt worth $20,000. Daniel Weber, the center’s director said, “The new colt will be an excellent improvement to our blood stock once he reaches age to be able to start breeding him.”
The center is always taking donations for feed and hay, medicine, vaccines, worming supplies, as well as funds for scholarships and the center’s endowment account. The Equine Center will be holding an invitational luncheon for donors on the spring.
