Mini semesters offered over winter break

Tarleton State University’s mini semester starts Dec. 18. Mini semesters are a good way to get an extra course completed during the break and can help students graduate on time or even early.

The mini semester is a three-week course offered over the winter break. Registration and Records Coordinator for the Tarleton Registrar’s Office Sharla Self says this a great opportunity for students who want to get a class done in between the fall and spring semesters.

Self says students can look at the classes offered and register on DuckTrax by searching for “3-week session offerings” instead of the normal 16-week courses.

“Typically, the College of Business Administration will offer business, marketing and management courses, and the College of Liberal and Fine Arts will offer communication and criminal justice courses,” Self said.

Self says mini semesters average about 80 students per year.

This year, mini semesters end on Jan. 10, just before the start of the spring semester. For more information on mini semesters, contact the Tarleton Registrar’s Office at 254-986-9389.
