Seahawks Cut Former TSU Running Back

Xavier Turner, former Tarleton State University Running Back, was cut by the Seattle Seahawks Friday night according to a tweet from Brady Henderson of ESPN.
Turner was picked up by the Arizona Cardinals following the 2019 draft as an undrafted free agent. The Cardinals subsequently cut the former Texan on August 2nd, according to their official team website. The Seahawks picked Turner up on August 7th, according to their official team website, just one day prior to their preseason opener versus the Denver Broncos.
In the game against the Broncos, Turner rushed for 32 yards on 13 carries. Turner said in his post-game media availability, “I knew a good four” plays. However, the Seahawks must not have liked what they saw in practice following that game, because Turner got just four more carries in the next three preseason games. Unfortunately for Turner, his play in the preseason simply wasn’t enough to get him on to the Seahawks 53-man roster.
There is still a chance Turner could end up on the practice squad if he clears waivers.
