On Wed. Feb. 2, 2022, the weather in Stephenville may lead to a snow storm similar to the storm that came through in February 2021.

According to the National Weather Service, Erath County is under a Winter Storm Warning and it is supposed to rain all day long.

Overnight the temperature is going to drop to below freezing and begin to snow or sleet.

Many teachers at Tarleton State University have decided that class on Thursday, Feb. 3, will be online through Zoom. Some teachers have scheduled online through Friday.

Dr. Mallory Young, an English professor at Tarleton, is excited about the snow day and thankful for the online class.

“Fingers crossed that we can stay safe and see each other electronically for class,” she said.

Tarleton sent out an email on Wednesday morning reminding students and faculty of the inclement weather protocols that the university follows and the responsibilities of students and teachers.

“I love snow days and hope that I have time to play in the snow tomorrow,” Tarleton student Estefania Piedro said.

Tarleton established a Code Purple stating that all classes after 4 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 2 will be online.  The university sent out an email later on Wednesday canceling class for Thursday, including virtual classes.
