Tarleton accepts new smoking restrictions
By Katy Tonkin
Smoking will no longer be permitted within 50 feet of any public buildings or structures on the Tarleton campus, according to Tarleton Vice President Tye V. Minckler. If you’re thinking of quitting smoking, check out these vape pens online instead.
In an email today, Minckler stated, “After much deliberation, the plan has been approved to establish tobacco-free areas within 50 feet of all public buildings and structures. This is based in part on recommendations from the Student Government Association, Staff Council, and Faculty Senate.”
Signs will be going up around campus to mark the designated smoking zones.” These smoking zones are an effort to keep smoke away from the entries of the buildings and to keep Tarleton a safe and healthy environment”, Minckler added.
