Tarleton taken by storm
By Andrea Beare –
Wednesday, April 10, Tarleton was host to the Area Career Development Events for thousands of FFA students.
Much like the last FFA event on March 21, buses filled the parking lots of several different locations across town.
Over 4,000 students attended the area FFA event, but not all will qualify for the state event.
“Texas FFA is divided into 10 “Areas,” Dr. Rudy Tarpley, Department Head of Agricultural and Consumer Sciences, said. “In order to qualify for the state events, FFA Chapters must place well in area events.”
The number of qualifiers for the state event will be around 2,000.
Stephenville was not only taken over by high school FFA students, but also by an actual storm.
With pounding wind, rain and temperatures below 40 degrees, this was not an easy contest but the show had to go on.
The state FFA contest will be held at Tarleton State University on April 18.
