The TexAnns, now 7-2 in conference play, struggled to score and dropped their first home game of the season 60-70 to the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs Saturday night.

This loss broke the TexAnns’ 18-game winning streak inside Wisdom Gym.

After starting conference play hot with six straight wins, the TexAnns have lost two of the last three games.

In Saturday’s game, the TexAnns battled through shooting struggles and made a comeback to the lead 34-36 the first half.

The first five minutes of the second half did not go in favor of the TexAnns when West Texas outscored them 10-2, making the largest deficit of the game thus far 36-46. With help from Brianna Bledsoe, who had 14 points on the night, the TexAnns made an 8-0 run to bring the score to 44-46.

Kiara Wright led the TexAnns with 16 points on the night but was unable to lead them to a win. The TexAnns continued to fight their way back but finally fell to the Lady Buffs 60-70.
The TexAnns return to play hosting Texas Woman’s University Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at Wisdom Gym. The players will be signing autographed team pictures after the game.
