Texans welcome families to campus

Tarleton State University is gearing up for Family Weekend, which begins on Sept. 16-18. The event promises to be a full slate of time-honored ceremonies, cultural performances, food, football and much more.
Family Weekend has been a Tarleton tradition for more than 25 years.
“I am looking forward to seeing my family and friends from back home and sharing Tarleton experiences with them,” freshman Jalen Thomas said.
Family Weekend has been a long-standing Tarleton tradition hosted by the office of student affairs and consists of a three-day weekend dedicated to immersing the proud Texan parents in Tarleton tradition, culture and experiences alongside the student body.
This is a perfect way to bridge students’ domestic homes and academic homes together.
“Family Weekend is an exciting time here at Tarleton State University because it not only allows me to show my family around the campus but also what I do throughout the week,” senior information systems major Trey Robertson said. “But, it allows them to meet the friends I have made and even connect with other families and share their experiences too. It also allows me to go out to eat at a restaurant too.”
Family Weekend will include family centered events such as massages for the entire family, sending out postcards, arts and crafts, the Texas Rally, the famous Create a Critter family event and many more.
There are tons of activities for all age groups and family sizes, so grab your family and go celebrate some Texan pride.
