Insomnia Cookies opened their doors to the community Aug. 28. They held their Grand Opening Aug. 31. All individuals waited in line to place their first order of cookies from the new store.

Insomnia offered a special deal for Tarleton students to spend $5 and get a six-pack of their traditional cookies for free by displaying their student identification.

Shauntell Jackson, a senior at Tarleton visited the store a day after the grand opening. Jackson used the six-pack student discount.

This was her first time trying Insomnia Cookies. Jackson usually would turn to Crumbl Cookies but wanted to try something new.

She said she prefers Crumbl Cookies better because they taste fresh from the oven whereas Insomnia did not have a unique flavor to her.

“I’ve had a bunch of different cookies from Subway to Bakers,” Jackson said. “It didn’t have a special kick to it that would make me say ‘Oh my gosh can I have it again.”

Justine Hopkins and Mia Fifer are both sophomore’s at Tarleton. They tried Insomnia Cookies for the first time together.

“They’re good but they’re super thin,” Hopkins said.

Fifer enjoyed the cookies as well. She said she prefers her cookies medium rare.

“They were still gooey enough on the inside,” Fifer said. “If they are willing to pay money for cookies, they’re pretty good cookies.”

All the students interviewed said they would visit the store again and wished there were more deals for students to afford them.

Insomnia Cookies is located at The Edge apartment complex on W Washington St.
