College life can be stressful and personal struggles can have a large impact on our mental health. These battles are not ones we have to face alone.
Tarleton State University has many free resources that are beneficial to the students.
The Dean of Students hosts a Wellbeing Monday which is a great option for students to meet with caring people and unwind.
Each week they have a themed event based on the seven pillars of self-care. Mental, emotional, physical, environmental, spiritual, recreational and social.
The events are held every Monday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Barry B. Thompson Student Center, except for special occasions where the activities are held outside.
“If students have any ideas of what self-care or wellbeing events they want to see we are totally open to them,” Tanner Chambers with the Dean of Students said.

Another option would be to get in contact with the counseling center. They offer confidential help over the phone, their website and their app.
The Student Counseling Service is located at the Wellness Center on the first floor of Traditions North.
Here you can talk with the campus counselors about many different things. This can include advice for counseling others, reaching out for personal help and getting in touch with a support group.
The counseling center is open in person 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone calls after hours will be redirected to ProtoCall, a mental health service staffed by licensed mental health professionals.
The health center also has resources as well as the recreation center.
“Really anywhere and everywhere you go they’re going to have some type of mental health atmosphere and mindset but just being willing to be open and go to those locations, knowing that we’re just here to help you and that’s all that we want,” Chambers said. “We want you to be happy and we want you to be fulfilled and feel like you are enough because, at the end of the day, you are enough.”
The Dean of Students administrative office offers a variety of resources for students.
“It's ok to reach out, it’s ok to seek help because that’s what we're here for,” Chambers said.
