Texan News Service (TNS) gears up for a new semester with new faces. The TNS executive team is excited to see what the fall semester holds.
Reese Keeling, sophomore at Tarleton State University, holds the Art Director position.
“I’m looking forward to all of the new opportunities this year and getting to incorporate new trends and creative things to our social media and newspaper,” Keeling said. “I’m excited to get to put together my first paper as the art director this year and I’m excited for our new staff.”
She has been the Art Director for the past two semesters at TNS. Keeling lays out the monthly publications, helps with graphic design that is needed and runs the TNS social media.
Keeling worked very hard starting out as multimedia journalist (MMJ) and has worked her way up to her current position.
Jolee Skinner also started out as a MMJ with the TNS and is the current managing editor.
“What I am most excited for as the managing editor this year is to grow more as a journalist but also as a professional,” Skinner said. “Journalism is the career I am in college for and I have been wanting to work for a multimedia organization since I came to Tarleton.”
Michaela Dennis is the new executive producer.
“I am excited to improve our broadcast and my skills with the equipment,” Dennis said.
This is my first semester as editor-in-chief. I started in the spring of 2022 as the graphic designer at TNS.
Since the spring of 2022 I have held several positions. I started as the graphic designer my first semester and following that semester I was moved to the art director position. I was then moved to managing editor and now hold the editor-in-chief position.
I have made many friendships throughout my years at TNS and have had the privilege of working with many great journalists.
The TNS staff also has three MMJ’s and two more students onboarding.
“The staff this year is like no other and I’m excited to see where we all go,” Skinner said.
I agree with Skinner, I think we have a great team this year and this will be one of the best years yet.
