It is that time of year again. The Christmas season is upon us, and the festivities are about to begin. Here are the top ten Christmas activities to do in Stephenville, Texas.
‘A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play’ Coming to Tarleton’s Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center
The Tarleton State University Department of Fine Arts presents a new spin on a holiday classic with “A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play.” The first of five performances is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 29 in the auditorium of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, children and faculty. Plus $5 for students with a Tarleton Student ID.
Tarleton Holiday Showcase
Come start your holiday festivities at Tarleton. Tarleton is hosting a holiday vendor showcase with over 50 vendors on Dec. 1. Come get all your Christmas shopping done at the Tarleton Recreation Center from 9 a.m. - 6p.m.
Light up the Night Christmas Celebration
Erath County United Way presents “Light up the Night, a Christmas Celebration.” The Light up the Night walking trail is three quarters of a mile with smores and hot chocolate.
The park will be lined with trees with twinkling lights plus with a nativity scene and a singing Christmas tree. There will also be live entertainment presented by Studio 6:14 Dance on the 3rd, SHS Jazz Band on Dec. 10 and Stephenville Dance Center on Dec. 17.
“Light up the Night” will be open Dec. 1- 3, Dec. 8 -10 and Dec. 15 -17. Gates will open at 6 p.m. every night and last admission will be granted at 9 p.m.
Studio 6:14’s Merry Mashup: (The Grinch who stole The Nutcracker)
You are invited on Saturday, Dec. 2 to see “The Grinch who Stole Christmas” and “The Nutcracker” presented by Studio 6:14. There will be two performances at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. will take place Dec. 2 at the Stephenville High School Auditorium. Admission for adults is $7.50 and kids are $5.50.
Christmas Wreath Workshop at Newton’s Saddlerack
Come join and create holiday wreaths with a professional holiday wreath making class with Floral Obsessions. The admission is $50, so come show your creativity and create a festive adornment for your door throughout the Christmas season. Enjoy mimosas and brunch at Newton’s Saddlerack Dec. 2 from 10 a.m.- noon.
Holly Jolly paint and sip
Get your tickets for painting and sip some great wine at Lucky Vines. Grab the tickets online through Dogwood Designs website for more information. This event is on Dec. 8 from 6- 8 p.m. at Lucky Vines Vineyard and Winery.
Santa at Triple Crown
Santa is coming to Triple Crown Ford. Join Santa on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. - 11 p.m. for some holiday treats and get your picture with Santa at no cost.
Tarleton’s W.K. Gordon Center to host cookies with Santa
Another opportunity to get a picture with Santa is at the W. K. Gordon Museum & Research Center on Sunday, Dec. 10 from 2-4 p.m. Come share cookies with Santa and get a cute holiday photo. At the event, guests will explore the exhibit, “Looking Back at Toys,” and vote on your favorite Christmas Tree. Admission is free.
Buck Fuffalo’s 8th Annual Christmas Music Festival
Stephenville musician Buck Fuffalo is hosting a Christmas-themed festival that raises money for Foster’s Home for Children. Come and enjoy some holiday fun at Melody Mountain Ranch from Dec. 7 - 10. Get your tickets now.
44th annual presentation of Handel’s Messiah
The public is invited to this magical performance of Handel’s Messiah. Tarleton State University’s Department of Performing Arts presents the 44th annual Charles and Cynthia Rives Masterworks Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
