During my time at the Texan News Service (TNS), I have gained so much knowledge that I didn’t know I needed before graduating from Tarleton State University.

While being a Sports Communication major, I have had the opportunity to take Mr. Lewter’s News Gathering and Writing class as well as his Broadcast Journalism Class.

While in his class, I was scared because I never saw myself as a writer. But Mr. Lewter pushed me to be better and it helped me in ways I didn’t know I was capable of.

The TNS is not just a job where you come and work everyday. This place is a family and a home that you can go to when you need help with anything.

When I came to Tarleton, I didn’t know what path I wanted to go down. After a semester and a half, I realized that I wanted to be a reporter.

During this semester, I have got to experience some of the best times. When I went to the Texas Tech football game to shoot photos, it was something that I have always dreamed of. The TNS gave me that opportunity and I am forever grateful.

Even though my time at the TNS wasn’t very long, I am so glad that I got to meet the staff of the TNS as well as get closer to knowing what I want to do after graduation.

Taite Read, my editor-in-chief, you have been a great person that I can go to when I am struggling to find the right words or need help with anything.

Jolee Skinner, you have been a great person to work with. You always bring a bright personality and bright energy to the office. You have been a great friend to be able to work with and to get to know during my time here.

Reese Keeling, you were the person to get me interested in the TNS and have always been so supportive of me and been here for me when I needed someone to come to about anything.

You have been a big part of my time at Tarleton and I love that we have gotten the chance to share something that we both love. I am so glad I got to share this experience with you.

Mr. Lewter, during my classes, you always saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself and you were always so supportive of me joining the TNS. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher, mentor and boss.

As I graduate this semester, I want to thank everyone that supported me and helped me accomplish my goals. Thank you to the TNS for giving me this great opportunity.
