Spring 2024 will be a big time for the Texan Tennis team as that is the expected completion date of their brand-new tennis facility.

“We’ve been talking a lot with Dr. Hurley and Vice President Reisman about what we need to elevate our program and I’ve been talking about facility upgrades for quite a while and they said why not just a brand new facility,” head women’s tennis coach Elianne Douglas-Miron said.

Elsa Bisson, senior on the tennis team, is ready to see where the tennis program is going.

“I’m really excited, I think I can talk for the whole team when I say we’re really excited about it, it just shows that Tarleton is growing and our tennis program as well,” Boisson said

The new facility will be another example of Tarleton and Lonn Reisman’s pride for Tarleton Athletics.

“If we can enhance the fan experience then people will come back and students will be more excited to come back and just play, we’ve had success in the past few years winning a lot of matches, and my goal is to make sure people want to come back,” Miron said. “I think that there’s really high-level tennis being played, these girls are exciting to watch and this facility is just going to help make sure that people have a better viewing experience and a better experience overall.”

The new facility will have six courts in a row with elevated seats for the fans.

“I love it here, it feels like I’m in the right place, I’m home with the right people, I feel like the people around me care so much and they never let me down,” Boisson said.

Boisson has loved her time here at Tarleton and described it as the best years.

Spring tennis will start in early January.
