The Tarleton State University baseball team will begin their 2024 season away on Feb. 16.

The Tarleton Texans are under a new, full coaching staff with Head Coach, Fuller Smith and multiple new players.

Coach Smith added R.D Spiehs as the first coach on his team as the pitching coach and former McNeese head coach, Nick Zaleski in mid-July. The final coach, Cody Selmer was announced as the assistant coach a week later.

The Texans went 26-26 last season and 10-18 in conference.

The starting lineup includes Mason Hammonds, Jack Wagner, Trace Morrison, Alec Williams and Dylan Kurahashi-Choy Foo.

Southeastern Louisiana

The Texans will hit the road for their first game on Feb. 16 for a three-day tournament against Southeastern Louisiana. Last season Louisiana went 25-25 and 9-14 in conference play.

University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA)

The Texans will play the UTSA at home as a new addition to their schedule on Feb. 20 for the Texans first home game of the season. Last season the Texans opened their season against UTSA away and finished 1-2 against the team.

Northern Colorado

The Texans will host Northern Colorado in a four-game series Feb. 23 through 25. Northern Colorado finished the season 11-34 and 8-16 in conference play.

Incarnate World
Feb. 28 will be the last game of the month in San Antonio against Incarnate world. The last time the Texans played Incarnate World was in 2022 and the Texans took the win 1-0.

With many changes on and off the field this season, Texan nation is in for a big season with a clean slate for 2024.
