Tarleton State University hosted its 13th annual Concert Band Festival, a two-day event held Feb. 26 and Feb. 27.

The festival attracted participants from middle schools, junior highs and high schools across Texas, serving as a platform for showcasing the musical talents of both students and educators.

Throughout the festival, the Fine Arts Center was bustling with activity, with parents eagerly waiting to see their children perform and students anticipating their moment in the spotlight. The music collection ranged from traditional marches to intricate compositions, highlighting the depth and complexity of musical expression demonstrated by the participants.

Each day of the festival featured a concert showcase. On Feb. 26, the Tarleton Symphonic Band and the University Band took to the stage, led by Dr. Gary Westbrook and Dr. David Robinson. Their performances showcased the dedication and skill of the university's music programs.

On Feb. 27, the Tarleton Wind Ensemble was the centerpiece of the evening's performances, once again under the direction of Dr. Robinson. The ensemble's performance featured guest soloists, Dr. Benjamin Charles, Dr. Caleb Pickering and Dr. Ben Tomlinson.
