Homecoming is a big deal all across the world as alumni of former schools, institutions and universities have an excuse to come back and reminisce about a time before.

A grand entrance was made to the game with Sgt. First Class Dana Bowman circled down to the field with a parachute while “God Bless the U.S.A ” by Lee Greenwood through the stadium AP system.

The homecoming football game is a big attraction to the alumni and the Stephenville community so it is important that the team puts on a good show. To ensure that a good game is played a rival or lesser opponent is scheduled.

There was a bit of déjà vu this year because this is the second year in a row where the purple and white have shut out an opponent with 42 points (the first being last year with Morehead State University). Maybe this is the newest tradition that Tarleton football will keep going.

Tradition is a deeply important pillar of Tarleton and that was reinforced with a matchup against conference opponent Utah Tech who is still waiting to catch a break. Total yards, passing yards and receiving yards were doubled and some tripled compared to the Trailblazers.

The game started with defensive back Deangelo Rosemond making a 40+ yard rush off receiving the kickoff. Four of the touchdowns came in the first quarter with the first coming in just over a minute from a 62-yard score from season-star running back Kayvon Britten who would end the game at halftime with 135 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The halftime score was the same as the final score so the second half proved to be a very good period for the second and third string players to get some reps in.

Braelon Bridges and Kristian Dalton would carry out the second half of the game along with 55 rushing yards a piece with help from the week two and three QB Daniel Greek.

After all zeros lit up the scoreboard and the lights turned off, the fans were treated to a drone show of 250 drones that would make many fan-favorite Tarleton-related figures and sayings.
